What is the exact workflow from your "good" version of the score to the "messed-up" score shown in your image (Screenshot 163222.png). Either way, you might be looking for things to do with your MIDI keyboard. And I am guessing that this is the cause of your problems, because MIDI just doesn't understand the concepts of music notation - it simply generates playing instructions with start and end points for each note/chord. Start playing immediately, even if you cant read sheet music. However, I do know that MIDI is a very poor way to export music notation. I'd like to help you, but I know nothing about Synthesia. Thanks Propnut, Yes this is the newer direct drive model, The latest direct drive unit is the updated version with the faster gear ratio in it, which made fishing in a stiff breeze much easier. Good luck and let us know what way to go,i just might be looking at a different method to steer my kicked in the future. When we lose confidence in a product,it's time to move on to something we can feel good about, and not worrying when it going to break again. We all value our fishing time to much, to be worrying about what is going to fail next. I don't have any real grips about their service dept, but then again I'm not having the same issue that you are either. Mike, is yours the new direct drive unit ,or does it still have the cable? I wonder if the motor is undersized with the direct drive units, and that is what is causing them to fail so frequently. The original motor was still working after I replaced it, but i figured it was just a matter of time before it went out also. Now over the years i have replaced the cables a few times.but knock on wood ,I have been lucky when it comes to the motor. About five years ago I replaced the original motor, went to the wireless remote ,replaces all the cables, and replaced the wood. I was replacing the cord about every year. I bought my original remote troll way back in about 1990. Turned out to be a bad plug from the battery to the motor. Mine quit working right in the middle of the bb derby this year. Mike I feel your pain when your remote troll quits working. I was also curious if anyone else has had issues like this with their remote troll, or if I really am just that unlucky. In my opinion if I were in the market for a remote steering system for my kicker I would stay clear of Remote Troll. It is so frustrating when things like this aren't dependable it takes the relaxation out of fishing when your constantly wondering when the next failure is going to occur. I emailed Remote Troll this evening to express my disgust and let them know I will no longer be supporting their product. I talked with one of the local mechanics at the Gorge and he said he won't install remote trolls anymore because they don't back their product up and they fail far too often. Each time I have contacted Remote Troll about the motor failure they act totally shocked and say something to the effect of " this is highly unusual we just don't see failures". I will be installing a rigid bar to fix the trolling motor in place and mounting a "panther" steering system on my kicker. At this point I am going to remove the steering motor from the remote troll bracket. The other two have come out of my pocket to the tune of $260.00 a piece. The first one was replaced under warranty because it failed after about 3 months. I bought my remote troll new 4 years ago and every year the steering motor has failed. Simply put, Readability and Instapaper weren’t able to work together because Apple changed the rules of the market. In fact, the only thing I disagree with Marco about in his assessment is the most direct cause of the business partnership between the two companies being unsuccessful. It was amicable, well-handled and resolved as happily as could be, given the circumstances. Marco describes much of this in great detail on a recent episode of his Build and Analyze podcast, which I think is generally very fair, but you can get a brief description of the story from the posts that both Readability and Marco wrote about the end of their partnership. You see, Readability’s original plan was to work with Marco to license a version of Instapaper as the flagship Readability client. These were very well-received, and for the first time, another reading application got as much attention and praise from the tech elite as Instapaper’s been getting. Meanwhile, Readability has been pursuing a network strategy, building its reading functionality first into an API that’s been adopted by a bunch of apps, then launching iOS and Android versions of reading apps under its own name. Until a few weeks ago, Instapaper was the inarguable mindshare leader in this space, pretty much synonymous with the concept of saving articles on the web for later reading, even though the other apps in the space have also been very popular for some time. Rest assured, after a dozen years of blogging here, I write what I write here because I mean it, and I know it to be true, and I hope that’s enough to explain my motivations. And I’m sure there’s more little details you could suss out if you were already convinced that I’m acting in bad faith or don’t mean the words that I say here. I still have some equity in Say Media (the successor to Six Apart), which theoretically benefits from publishing sites that run ads which these apps hide. I am a long-time fan of Marco Arment’s from even before Instapaper was created, and whenever we’ve seen each other socially, I’ve been really impressed by his thoughtfulness. I am an enthusiastic and proud advisor to the good people at Readability and consider them friends. Or, maybe this time, we just don’t have to go through all of that again.# Where We’re Atįirst, I should loudly and clearly disclaim: I’m theoretically conflicted all over this. It’s pretty exciting.Īnd also, it’s a time for the nascent space of reading improvement tools, as pioneered by Instapaper, Read It Later, Readability and others, to reach that inevitable point in a young tech space’s development where things develop into a shitshow flamewar that nobody comes out of unscathed. My friends at Readability have launched an awesome API that marks the maturation of a really powerful network for synching the things you read across a ton of great apps and devices. It’s an interesting time for those of us who care about reading on the web. Based on what I learned during a similar stage in the evolution of the blogging market, I fear these petty squabbles will hurt both tools and leave the market open only to the biggest, best-funded, most soulless competitors and that both these cool, innovative tools will lose. ![]() But, foolish fanboy enthusiasm on both sides has got people choosing “sides” between the apps and turning legitimate feature debates into some sort of moral judgment of the people building the tools. ![]() ![]() In summary: Readability and Instapaper are two awesome reading tools that actually aren’t in competition since Readability is mostly a network and Instapaper is mostly an app. Split history database is not guaranteed to be complete or free of errors. or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries or partners. Also if you place any in the path of storm towers they became burnt forests, no longer awarding attack speed but instead giving magic damage. Forests increase attack speed, but if you place too many you’d create a fake village that would clone you. As for meadows, if they’re placed next to anything other than another meadow then they’ll become a blooming meadow, healing you more and giving you change as well.Įach card in the game had hidden elements like this. You also can’t place mountains forever, as every 10th mountain creates a goblin camp. If you make a 3×3 grid of mountains then you’ll create a mountain peak, which increases your max health even more and gives you a bunch of change (another resource.) However, once you’ve made a mountain peak, every couple of days it’ll spawn a harpy for you to fight. However both cards have several hidden elements. Mountains increased by max HP by a certain percent and gave me rocks when placed, while meadows awarded me with small amounts of healing at the start of each day and awarded me with food when placed. For example, early on two cards I got were mountains and meadows. Most cards do a variety of actions, and a lot of the fun of the game is figuring out how the cards play together. Each card represents a different area that can either be put on or off of the path the hero walks. As you kill monsters you’ll collect equipment, resources, and most importantly, cards. ![]() If that’s all there was to Loop Hero then there wouldn’t be much to say. The whole time there’s a fantastic graphical style that both hearkens back to to classic RPGs while still feeling unique and modern. You don’t directly participate in any of this, but you get to watch your little character punch enemies to death. Eventually they run into the monsters, which starts combat. Your character will start to automatically walk the path, and monsters will show up. You’ll start at a campfire and a path will generate. The end result is creating lines that I had to read a few times to figure out what they were trying to say.Įvery level starts the same. The game has a bad habit of poor grammar and strange word choices. Alas, one of my only major issues with Loop Hero comes here. It’s an interesting concept, and one I’d love to see explored. Yes he may grab some forests, but also the undead. So sure he’s bringing back villages, but also bandits to raid them. Soon he discovers that his memories reshape the world, both the good and the bad. However he wakes up in a dark place with only a path in front of him. Loop Hero starts off with an unnamed hero trying to, and failing, in stopping the world from being destroyed by a cosmic threat. Thankfully, there’s plenty of game here, and Loop Hero will continue to be my obsession for the next few months at least. ![]() When I tried out the game I knew I was immediately hooked. Even better, I didn’t know an idle game could match together horror aesthetics, roguelite gameplay, and deckbuilding in such a fantastic way. Some of the biggest names who have called the building home include superstar Jennifer Lopez and her former partner, onetime Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez. Ade noted that he’d been in the apartment in all kinds of weather and never felt it sway. Pointing to the floating joints between the walls and ceilings, Berk and the architect of record, Felix Ade of YUN Architecture, explained how the elements of the apartment would move with the building. On a sunny day in September, she gave a tour to The Real Deal, commenting several times on how quiet the apartment was. In the past six weeks, Berk has shown the apartment five times. Sugimoto flew in materials and trades people from Japan to do the build-out for the sellers, who are American art collectors. “Considering the pedigree and that you can move in with a toothbrush and be thrilled and happy in the apartment, I don’t think it’s overpriced,” she said. But Engel & Völkers’ Noel Berk, the listing agent for the $135 million unit on the 79th floor - which was custom designed by Japanese architect Hiroshi Sugimoto - disagreed. Ryan Serhant, the listing agent, did not respond to requests for comment. Alhokair bought the penthouse for $87.7 million in 2016. “There’s no precedent set for that,” he said. Multiple agents said the asking prices are too high.Ĭompass broker Richard Steinberg, part of the team that initially sold the building, called the $169 million price tag for Saudi retail magnate Fawaz Alhokair’s top-floor penthouse “an aggressive price,” particularly for a resale. Both units, one on the 96th floor and the other on the 79th floor, were listed after the building’s issues became public.
